Grooming
You will need to groom your new bunny, some breeds more than others, Lionheads will require more so than the Mini lop so do take this into account when choosing your pet.
Grooming is also a great way to bond with your bunny, a quiet spot is ideal on a flat surface such as counter or table preferably with a small piece of carpet or rubber mat to prevent slipping.
You could also do this on your lap holding bunny secure, Speak in a soft voice to your bun and stroke for a few minutes, bunnies usually enjoy the ears and head been stroked.
Bristle brush works well on the short haired breeds and the wire comb types are more suitable for the longer haired buns.
Gently brush out any matts and cover the whole body.
NEVER Bath your bunny, bunnies can get cold easily and die. At some point you may need to wash the bottom area this is fine but please dry well.
BOREDOM
Bunnies do get bored just the way we do, you will need to keep bunny happy here are some ideas
* The shell shape children's plastic paddling pools are great filled with compost to dig and burrow
* Large cardboard boxes to play, climb and hide
* Small boxes filled with treats great for throwing around
* Petshops sell a variety of bunny toys
* Large plant pots filled with veg and hay
* Some cat toys and balls are also fun for play
* You could also make a bunny assault course with tunnels, bridges, boxes. ( great fun for the kids and even more fun watching your bunny binky and jump and roll with enjoyment.
Whatever you choose please make sure its safe for your bunny, last thing you want is a injured bun. Consider sharp edges, poisionous products ( some paints are dangerous)
Plastic toys can be a hazard as bunny may digest.
